Deciduous tree 12-15m high, with very large 15-40 cm heart-shaped leaves. It is a very fast growing tree. Grows in moist, well-drained soils. Hardiness zone from 5-9. No known pests or diseases. Blooms in spring with lavender-blue flowers, in bunches. Tolerates urban pollution well. Begins to bloom 8-10 years after sowing. Can grow in full sun as well as half sun.
