Italian Woodbine Or Honeysuckle/Lonicera Caprifolium/
Popularly called sweet love. It has earned its name because of its pleasant smell. This liana grows up to 8 m high, has woody, bare shoots and broad elliptical, dark green leaves with a bluish underside. The leaves are arranged opposite to each other, the 2-3 upper pairs of leaves are fused together and form elliptical discs that cover the stem of the liana. The branches of these fused leaves form 6 sitting cream-colored flowers with a slightly reddish exterior. The flowers are very fragrant, bloom in June, July. In August, September, coral-red berries, which are decorative but not edible. It winters moderately, will grow better in the central and western part of Latvia. It is recommended to plant next to the walls of buildings.
